After compiling the data, rates of acceptance, basketball scholarships, and STEM awards were calculating
according to the percentage of the total number of applicants, roster size, and undergraduate enrollment respectively.
Admissions rates were calculated by dividing the number of acceptance by the number of applicants. Basketball scholarship rates
were calculated by the number of scholarships by roster size. Finally, STEM graduation rates were calculated by number of STEM awards
and the undergraduate enrollment.
To determine the equality score, these rates were subtracted between the male rate and female rate. The absolute
value of these differences were then added together to make the score. Teams with higher score meant more inequality. Teams
were disqualified from the competition if there was no data or like with the case of Harvard, where no basketball are given to players.
